‘Tis the season! Time to dust off those gardening gloves, make the most of these warmer days and gather in the garden. Here is the plan for the coming months:
Saturday, April 27
Clean up and Work Bee
9 AM start (with breakfast) – 11:30 crew
11:30 (with lunch) – 2 PM crew
We’ve got some amazing plans for the garden this year and we need your help to make them a reality. There will be something for everyone on our clean up day! Like our work bees last year, we’ll have a great time together, childcare will be provided and amazing food as well. Can you email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know which shift you can attend (morning or afternoon)? We’re looking for two crews to help with the following projects:
- build a new storage shed
- clear the area for the new shed
- deconstruct the old shed and level out the new meeting area
- spread and tamp the limestone in the new meeting area
- building and painting signs
- designing our gardens
Saturday, May 25
10 AM – 1 PM (with BBQ lunch provided)
Join us for our second annual garden season kick off. We’ll be planting our children’s garden, communal gardens, and allotment beds. Something for everyone! Bring your soil amendments and seedlings and plant your plots as well! Plan on sticking around for lunch, we promise (as usual), some great food.
And last but not least, mark your calendars for the summer – every Tuesday evening around dinner time throughout the summer, we’ll make a point of gathering together to water, weed and tend our plots. Bring some picnic food if it works for you! We learned last season that it’s more fun to garden with others :).
